Karlskirche

Karlskirche was a very large and pretty church.

Maybe it's just that I'm surrounded by churches and cathedrals here, but I wasn't all that impressed here. Though the concerts we saw here were very cool.  I liked the second performance we saw with Verdi's "4 Seasons" better, although I don't think the acoustics of the church were all that great.  Especially on the first night, I couldn't hear the performers equally.  The violins seemed to drown out the cellos and the singer a bit.  However I'm not an acoustical engineer so that's just my opinion.

Something I did find interesting was the two spires on the front of the church that are very out of place in the city.

Edit:
I have since learned that the spires are referencing Spain and the lost Habsburg territory there. Kind of a strange thing to build as a reminder into a church...
