Stephansdom

After re-visiting the Stephansdom with the rest of the class and Gretel today I have a new found appreciation for cathedrals. I had figured that if you've seen one giant stone church then you've seen em all but now I realize that it what you don't necessarily see that make the building interesting.  After learning the history of Stephansdom and all the hell it has been through over the years the significance of behind buildings of this nature is more apparent. They're colossal time-capsules with relics from the past built into them. They have way too much history built into them. On top of that they are also engineering marvels and points of pride for a city as old as Vienna. I look forward to being able to retell half the stuff I learned from Gretel to my family when they visit.

Edit:
The catacombs are nice and cold...Filled with thousand of bones and pitch black...but nice and cold nonetheless.

The one crappy photo I got. (Again no photos allowed)
