To be honest, I really only learned about this place through "The Woman in Gold" but at least I did know of it...
Despite meaning "Beautiful View" the view was pretty lackluster. Though I'm sure it looked way better before high-rises and large apartment complexes became incredibly popular.
I wasn't expecting there to be modern art in the museum, but I guess the Belvedere wants to keep you on your toes and always guessing. It was actually a bit of a refresher seeing more modern art pieces, but some of them were a little too far out there for my taste; namely the Pink Tape Ground Blob.
Dr. O was great! Again, I wish I could remember half the things she told us about the art in there, but it was still great to hear her talk about the history and significance of the building and the art there.
Speaking on the art: I don't understand why we aren't allowed to take pictures of the art in there. What harm does it do? It's not like the art is a well kept secret...
As a result, I take immense pride in my illegal pictures.
Behold!
Franz Joseph
And Franz Joseph
Damn Klimt could paint...
